Emma Stone, for example, said that she’d like to return to her birth name — Emily Stone.
Michael Keaton, when accepting his gong for Birdman told the audience he was originally called Michael Douglas. He changed his name to make sure he will not be confused with actor Michael Douglas. He chose “Keaton” because he liked comedian Buster Keaton.
Many other stars have changed names, from Elton John (originally Reginald Kenneth Dwight) to Mila (Milena Markovna) Kunis, Nicki Minaj (Onika Tanya Maraj) to Tzvika (Henrik) Pik.
